Number 1: Pray without creasing
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thess. 5:16-18)
The first and most important aspect of Christian leadership and ministry is prayer. All ministry is given to men and women by God’s mercy and so we pray. We must depend upon the Lord of heaven and earth to make dead people alive. Any spiritual growth is completely by His power and grace. We are called to go and make disciples of all nations and yet at the very same time He is the one who grows His kingdom.
One plants, another waters, but God gives the growth. We pray without ceasing because He is a good Father and hears our prayers. We pray because we are completely dependent on Him. All Christian leadership and ministry must always be soaked in prayer.
If you’re a Christian leader then you’re called to be a servant of the Word and prayer so spend a good chunk of your time actually praying.
